I'm Aaron - a close-up magician based in Lanarkshire, performing across the Central Belt: Glasgow, Edinburgh, and everywhere in between. I've been doing this for over 20 years, and I still perform the same way I started: strolling, close-up, right in your guests' hands.

Most of my work falls into three areas: weddings, where I usually work the drinks reception and mingle between courses; corporate events, where clients want something genuinely different for clients or staff rather than another quiz; and restaurant residencies, where I turn up on a regular night and become part of what makes that place worth coming back to.

What I like about close-up magic, and why I've stuck with it for two decades, is that it's one of the only forms of entertainment that's genuinely social. It doesn't need a stage, a set-up, or a pause in your event - it just slots into whatever's already happening and gives people something to react to together. That's the bit that gets talked about afterwards, not the trick itself.
